Worldwide, Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica serovar Dublin (S. Dublin) is responsible for clinical disease in cattle, but also humans. The serovar was identified as causative agent for 58 outbreaks regarding animal herds in Southern Bavaria, Germany, within the years 2017 to 2021. Most of these emerged from cattle herds (n= 54), including a mountain pasture. Two outbreaks occurred in pig farms and two in bovine herds other than cattle.
