This study examines the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) anxiety and unemployment anxiety among pre-service preschool teachers in Karaman, Turkiye. Utilizing a correlational research design, data were collected from 152 undergraduate students at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University using the Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Scale and the Unemployment Anxiety Scale. Results indicate that participants experience moderate levels of AI anxiety and high levels of unemployment anxiety. A significant positive, yet low-magnitude, correlation was found between the two variables, with AI anxiety significantly predicting 7.2% of the variance in unemployment anxiety. Furthermore, female participants reported significantly higher AI anxiety than males, and while grade level did not impact anxiety, higher frequency of AI tool usage was associated with lower anxiety levels. The findings emphasize the necessity of integrating AI literacy into teacher education to mitigate technological fears and prepare future educators for AI-driven classrooms.
