Impact of hemolysis on profiles of exRNAs in healthy individuals The goal of the project was to investigate the effect of hemoglobin released during blood collection on the levels of circulating miRNAs. Blood from 5 subjects, 3 females and 2 males were collected in EDTA, heparin and serum vacutener tubes. Cell free plasma was then mixed with increasing concentrations of hemoglobin, 0.05, 0.5 and 5%, and miRNAs analyses using RT-PCR.
