Thuqeibah Excavation 2018, Sharjah

Thuqeibah is an important Iron Age archaeological site located in the municipality of al Madam, in the Emirate of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates). It has been dated to around 900 BC. It includes a well-preserved village and an extensive area of irrigated crops with a complex water distribution network, supplied by a main underground channel called falaj. The site has been excavated since 1994 by a Spanish research team from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with the support of the Sharjah Archaeology Authority. This model corresponds to one of the sections of falaj excavated during the 2018 campaign, under the direction of Carmen del Cerro Linares. 01 Fotografías aéreas ICNA EASTERN LIMIT
