Photographic Documentation of Roman Ionic Capitals and Columns from the 'Podium Building' at Tell Iẓṭabba (Beth Shean), Israel

The photographic documentation is supplementary material to a paper co-authored by Walid Atrash, Achim Lichtenberger, Gaby Mazor and Oren Tal published in Boreas 43/44, 2020/21.

In the paper, we discuss several 2nd/3rd century CE Ionic capitals and column drums made of limestone and used as spolia in a Byzantine period building in Tell Iztabba (Beth Shean), Israel. The dataset provides the photographic documentation. The capitals are numbered according to the catalogue numbers of the Boreas article and in brackets the original numbering allocated during excavations is provided (Ca).The column drums are ordered according to excavation numbers (Co).

The material was recovered during the 2020 excavation campaign of the German-Israeli Tell Iztabba Excavation Project directed by Achim Lichtenberger and Oren Tal, funded by the German-Israeli Foundation.
