Nicobarese gut microbiota - Indian gut microbiome

This study was initiated to characterize the gut bacterial composition of Nicobarese community. This is one of the ethnic communities residing in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. This community is in a stage of lifestyle transition, where we can observe two extreme lifestyles within the community. A traditional agrarian and gathering kind of lifestyle can be observed in the remote group and a westernized lifestyle in the urban areas. The variations in these two lifestyles could be intriguing.
