Packer-DnC Dataset

We generate packed binaries within a controlled virtual environment and collect additional packed binaries. We consider 24 different binary packers with compressor, cryptor, protector, bundler, and virtualizer functionalities, as shown in Table \ref{packers_exp}. We obtain the non-packed binaries dataset from freshly installed Windows 7 system, Windows 10 Pro system, from other sources. We utilize 13647 packed binaries and 9,416 non-packed binaries for our experiments. While packed and non-packed binaries are used for packed binary detection tasks, the packed binaries dataset is used for packer classification in the proposed work.
