Genomic characterization by NGS method (e.g. GBS-seq) of banana genetic ressources.. Musa species 2023

The present study focuses on the northern part of the Musa range, at the crossroads of Vietnam, Laos, and the Chinese province of Yunnan, an area only partially explored but particularly rich in Musa species. This approach, which is quite innovative in Musa, reconciles the morphological and genomic diversity of the collected species and thus provides a more solid basis for the associated taxonomic classification considering the observed intraspecific variability. It thus provides a way to optimise ex-situ and in-situ biodiversity conservation projects and opens possibilities for the better harnessing of crop wild relatives in breeding programs.
