Shankha Subhra Devbarmanis one of the most powerful and popular novelists and short story writers in contemporary Bengali literature. His short stories and novels never deviated from reality and documented the increasingly failing moral compass of contemporary society. As we say literature is the mirror of society, so its effect on literature is inevitable. In his writings, we often observe the vivid reality of our familiar society. Actually he tells the tales of everyday people of North East India. He has documented their vivid realities, their aspirations, and their struggles too. The changing patterns of life and thinking in respect of the people of city Agartala (Capital of Tripura) is very clearly depicted in the novel 'Agartala Unlimited' (2011) written by Shankha Subhra Devbarman. In this Novel novelist pictured how people's mentality changes over time, which has both positive and negitive impact in society. If we go through the novel we find that how protagonist Rahul being a journalist, has collected news from different parts of society and all that news has come up as a main source in the novel 'Agartala Unlimited' which makes us aware as reader. Through the character Rahul-novelist Shankha Subhra Devbarman attempeted to bring awareness and consciousness in the mind of readers, because we know that literary works and literary characters arise public sentiment to bring changes in the society.
