Species inventory of ectomycorrhizal fungi in a suburban secondary forest in the northwestern part of Tama area, Tokyo, Japan

To assess ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungal diversity in a suburban secondary forest, we collected 766 samples (436 fungal sporocarps, 327 ECM root tips, and 3 sclerotia) from a site dominated by Quercus serrata in Ome Forest (35°47′40″N, 139°16′07″E), Tokyo, Japan, during 2016–2018. The samples obtained were identified using morphological and DNA barcoding-based analyses. These files are a species inventory of ECM fungi, including some saprotrophic and endophytic taxa, from the study site and some of the photographs documenting them.
