It also includes detailed annotations for these ncRNA sequences, such as their biogenesis, biological functions, structures, and evolutionary conservation.

NONCODE (http://www.noncode.org/) is a comprehensive database dedicated to collecting and annotating non-coding RNAs, particularly long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) from animals. NONCODEV6 aims to provide the full complement of lncRNAs from both plants and animals. Since its last update in 2017, the number of lncRNAs in NONCODEV6 has increased from 548,640 to 644,510. The number of human lncRNAs has risen from 172,216 to 173,112. The count of mouse lncRNAs has grown from 131,697 to 131,974. The number of plant lncRNAs stands at 94,697. The associations between lncRNAs in humans and cancers have been updated via transcriptome sequencing profiles. NONCODEV6 also incorporates three key new features: (i) updated associations between human lncRNAs and diseases, especially cancers; (ii) lncRNA annotations along with their tissue expression profiles and predicted functions in five common plant species; (iii) lncRNA conservation annotations at the transcript level for 23 plant species.
