To analyze difference of live and heat-killed Bifidobacterium breve, we performed a transcriptome analysis in distal ileum and colon. Germ-free BALB/c mice were housed in gnotobiotic vinyl isolators. After three days habituation, PBS or live cell suspension in PBS or heat-killed cell suspension in PBS were administered to mice daily for 20 or 21 days. Total RNA of the distal ileal and colonic samples was extracted with TRIzol.
