Parks and Recreation Areas

The Parks and Recreation Areas Point Feature Layer represents the geographic locations of publicly managed Forsyth County parks. Park facilities consist of City of Cumming, Forsyth County, and Army Corps of Engineers parks in Forsyth County. This is a point feature layer where each point represents a distinct park, recreation area, Big Creek Greenway trailhead, green space, or managed recreational site administered by the County. The layer serves as a centralized spatial inventory of recreational assets and supports both internal operational workflows and public facing GIS applications. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure positional accuracy, mapped points represent general site locations and should not be used for property boundary determination. This feature layer is maintained by authorized GIS personnel under Forsyth County Government in coordination with the Parks and Recreation Department.
