The way in which salt flows is highly heterogeneous and results in complex fabrics and structures. To improve our understanding of how halite deforms and recrystallizes under different conditions we performed full-field numerical modelling of polycrystalline aggregates of halite. The numerical approach is based on the coupling of the viscoplastic Full-Field Transform code (VPFFT, Lebensohn and Rollet, 2020) that simulates the viscoplastic deformation and multi-scale platform ELLE (Bons et al, 2008) that has enabled recrystallization processes such as recovery, nucleation and grain boundary migration. This data set This data set contains (i) the output files with the crystal orientation data of simulation DRX_100, DRX_200 and DRX_300, and (ii) a code to plot the crystallographic orientation density function (ODF) using the open-source code MTEX (Mainprice et al., 2011).
