资源简介:
Abstract: This dataset includes standard petrographic analyses of thin sections created from rock samples excavated during the construction of New York City water tunnel #3 (Chief collector: Scott Chesman). These samples are essential for the investigation of New York City’s geology, as well as the tectonic processes that shaped the Appalachian region. The dataset contains volume percents for quartz, plagioclase, biotite, garnet, pyroxene, hornblende, and opaque minerals of rare high grade-granulitic samples from the Brooklyn and Queens sections of the tunnel.
