Assessment of otato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) tolerance of semicultivated tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum) and identification of potential anti-PSTVd metabolites

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is globally important recognized for its positive health benefits and unique taste (Cammarano et al. 2020). It is well known that cultivated tomatoes have a narrow genetic base (Baldo et al. 2007). Various germplasm of semicultivated tomato with differential phenotype and stress resistance are very important materials for breeding. Moreover, semicultivated tomato is of great importance in southwest China since it is the main ingredient of red sour soup, which is a traditional fermented product of the Miao nationality showing huge market demand (Xiong et al. 2021).
