Morphometric data of West African Dwarf and Red Sokoto goats from three selected local government areas of Anambra State, Nigeria

This dataset consists of 230 records of body weight and linear body parameters of two goat breeds: West African Dwarf (WAD) and Red Sokoto (RS), collected randomly from Ayamelum, Awka North and Orumba North local government areas of Animal state, Nigeria. The goats composed of 149 WAD (42 males and 107 females) and 81 RS (62 males and 19 females) individuals. The linear body parameters were measured in cm using a calibrated tape following a linear dimensional diagram of Gataneh et al. (2022), while the body weight was estimated by a formula derived from Agarwal formula (Wangchuk, et al. 2017) by the authors.
