<b>Data collection. </b>Data was collected in temporary ponds in Comoé National Park, Ivory Coast, in 2014, 2018, and 2019. We sampled 35 temporary ponds during the core rainy season (May-Sep), each visited up to three times in a given sampling year. We collected tadpoles and all potential aquatic tadpole predators using the ‘box’ method, where we used a 50 × 50 cm open-bottom metal box to sample the entire water column at different locations in each pond, with number of sampling points (i.e. number of box samples) spaced ~2 m apart to account for habitat heterogeneity. As such, we carried out more box samples in larger ponds (maximum 11 box samples).<b>Data analysis. </b>We analyzed the occurrence data in R using the code provided. First, we analyzed the tadpole occurrence data at the pond level (analysis_pond.R), using early-stage tadpole as proxy for recent oviposition, to investigate timing and pond selection by breeding anurans. Second, we analyzed the 'box' occurrence data (analysis_box.R), to explore the choice of micro-habitats by tadpoles within ponds. Finally, we identified significant between- and within-pond species co-occurrences using a null model approach (analysis_cooc.R). Note that the pond- and box-level codes must be run first in order to proceed with the co-occurrence analysis. We also provide detailes on the data cleaning process, which was applied prior to each analysis (see data_clean.R). <b>Note. </b>All variable names are described in the 0_data_README.csv file.
