Long term effect of nitrate treatment in hybrid aspen wood

Nitrate is an important nutrient source and is often a limiting factor in plant growth and development. On the contrary, an excessive amount can limit its usage efficiency by plants and leach into environment, necessitating the exploration of nitrogen usage and accumulation in plants. This study analyzed the physiological, biochemical, and molecular features of nitrate responsiveness in wood under three concentration levels (high, intermediate, and low) of nitrate. The differential gene expression in response to three selected nitrate concentrations was determined by RNA Seq of xylem tissue isolated from hybrid aspen.
