"Internet of Things (IoT) technologies offer a great range of solutions for addressing water scarcity, nutrient efficiency usage in agriculture, etc. This study has integrated IoT with existing sustainable agriculture frameworks to contribute to the body of knowledge through the use of digital innovations and principles of micro-climate-smart agriculture to enhance and innovate food production, by promoting effective precision farming techniques and enhancing productivity while minimising environmental degradation. This study has demonstrated that IoT technologies in agriculture have the potential to revolutionise the management of macro and micronutrients, representing a significant step towards modernising and optimising food security measures. This study evaluated and compared the efficiency of IoT-managed greenhouses and traditional farming systems in terms of nutrient delivery, crop growth, and overall sustainability as partly a consequence of electronically controlling the gravimetric water content and the implementation of real-time IoT-based control and monitoring systems to optimise nutrient levels and the micro-climate. Therefore, this research has brought new insights into the scalability, adaptability, and long-term sustainability of IoT applications in agriculture, by contributing to the growing body of knowledge on precision agriculture and promoting sustainable farming practices"
