Dataset 1: "Partitioning the biodiversity effects on productivity into density and size components"

DescriptionA dataset of an annual-palnt diversity experiment used in Tatsumi and Loreau (2023). Five species (Arthraxon hispidus, Bidens pilosa, Digitaria ciliaris, Kummerowia stipulacea, and Persicaria longiseta) were sown solely or in mixtures of two, three, or four species in planting pots. A total of 24 seeds (Pot ID #1-45) or 72 seeds (Pot ID #46-90) were sown per pot. The number of emerged seedlings were counted after 2 weeks of sowing. After a growing season, the number of live plants was counted. The plants were then harvested, dried, and weighed. The same dataset is also provided in the 'densize' R package available at https://github.com/communityecologist/densize.Data structureInitDens.csv: Initial seed densities (seeds sown per pot) of each species in each pot, organized in a data frame with 90 rows (pots) and 5 columns (species).
