Norovirus-GII-genotypes-summary: dual-typed norovirus GII sequences with metadata

Capsid (ORF2) and polymerase (ORF1) genotype assignments for 4,400 norovirus genogroup II nucleotide records from NCBI, produced with the RIVM Norovirus Genotyping Tool v2.0 and joined to collection date, country, host, length and completeness metadata. Distributed as tabular data so that users can subsample by genotype, geography or date without repeating the typing run. Sequences are not redistributed; records are identified by GenBank accession. Coverage: 93 distinct dual types, 4,339 of 4,400 fully typed on both genes, 1,526 complete and 2,874 partial genomes, 52 countries, collection years 1971-2026. NCBI snapshot 12 August 2026. Note: a dual type is not a clade. Norovirus recombines at the ORF1/ORF2 junction, so capsid and polymerase have different evolutionary histories - GII.4 appears here with P4, P16 and P31.
