This study attempts to synthesize trade-offs related to sustainability in the context of integrating AI into software systems. The main aim is to support practitioners with a sustainability perspective when deciding if and how to integrate AI. This study makes the sustainability benefits and costs of integrating AI more transparent and accessible for practitioners.
