This dataset contains experimental data on the water use of Mongolian pine (Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica) under altered precipitation regimes in the Mu Us Sandy Land, China. The precipitation manipulation experiment included three precipitation treatments: precipitation addition (+50%), ambient, and precipitation reduction (−50%), with three replicates for each treatment. The dataset includes measurements of soil water content, stable isotopic compositions of water sources (δ²H and δ¹⁸O), leaf carbon isotope composition (δ¹³C), and sap flow during the growing seasons of 2024 and 2025.
