资源简介:
Primary goal of the study was comparison of the mouse gut microbiome of naive, vehicle and non-viable non-replicating Veillonella parvula treated mice before, during, and 1 week after dosing. Gut microbiome composition of V. parvula treated mice was analyzed in comparison to vehicle treated and naive mice using 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing. Overall the microbiome composition was stable across treatment and time point. If V. parvula was to have a substantial effect on the composition of the mouse fecal microbiome, we would expect to see that at the during dosing time point. However, composition remains stable between the before dosing and during dosing time points for V. parvula treated mice, indicating no strong effects on the microbiome. The composition remains stable at the day 16 time point as well, indicating no latent or long lasting effects of V. parvula on gut microbiome composition. We therefor conclude that treatment of mice with this strain of non-viable, non-replicating Veillonella parvula did not generate changes in mouse gut microbiome composition detectable by 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing.
