This study aimed to enrich acetylenotrophic microbial communities from TCE-contaminated groundwater and evaluate whether acetylene could sustain microbial dechlorination. Enrichment cultures were provided with nutrients and acetylene as their sole carbon source. An acetylenotrophic enrichment culture was selected for TCE dechlorination studies, which related that acetylene consumption can fuel TCE reduction.
