We performed RNA-seq analysis combined with targeted metabolomics analysis of the fetal lungs, in a delayed labor mouse model, steroid receptor coactivator (SRC)1/SRC2 double knockout (dKO) mouse. It was found that the expression of arginase 1 (Arg1), the key enzyme in arginine biosynthesis and metabolism, was significantly decreased in the SRC1/SRC2 dKO mice, along with the increased levels of the Arg1 substrate arginine and decreased levels of the Arg1 metabolite ornithine.
