资源简介:
Whole genome sequencing of 51 strains of 22 different fungal species that can causes superficial infections in humans. 10 genera were sequenced: Candida, Epidermophyton, Hortaea, Malassezia, Microsporum, Nakaseomyces, Nannizzia, Pichia, Trichophyton, and Trichosporon. The aim was to compare adaptation, pathogenecity, and virulence mechanisms across skin-associated fungi. To identify shared and unique strategies for life on and infection of human skin. With an estimated life time risk of 20-25% the superficial fungal infections rank among the top 10 most prevalent skin diseases. By providing a comprehensive genomic resource of clinically relevant skin-associated fungi, we aim to enhance future investigations into the diagnosis and molecular mechanisms underlying SFI-associated diseases
