The dataset comprises monthly evaporation data collected from 70 hydrological stations in the Yellow River Basin, spanning the years 2002 to 2012. This dataset was compiled from the monthly average evaporation tables included in the annual *Hydrological Data of the Yellow River Basin* publications, which were edited and printed by the Hydrology Bureau of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China.
