This study aims to perform whole-genome resequencing of Cladophialophora chaetospira, a fungus isolated from an industrial wasteland in Vieux-Charmont, France, by the Chrono-environment laboratory at University Franche-Comte. As part of the EU HORIZON-BIOSYSMO project, this research seeks to elucidate the genetic basis for the metal tolerance exhibited by C. chaetospira. Through comprehensive genomic analysis, the study intends to identify the genes and pathways that enable the fungus to survive and adapt to environments contaminated with heavy metals. The insights gained from this research are expected to significantly advance our understanding of fungal resilience and adaptation, contributing to the development of effective bioremediation strategies and enhancing our capacity to manage and rehabilitate polluted environments.
