Here, we aim to provide a conceptual replication of a finding by Perea & Carreiras (2008, Language and Cognitive Processes): in their Experiment 1, they report that, using a masked priming paradigm, transposed-letter primes (e.g., jugde - JUDGE) provide stronger facilitation of target word recognition, when the transposed letter pair forms an illegal bigram.
