Tourism share of GDP in El Salvador 2019-2021

The tourism sector accounted for 9.3 percent of El Salvador's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021, after having experienced a decline of more than five percentage points in the previous year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the recovery, the contribution of tourism to the Salvadorian economy remained below pre-pandemic levels.
