Cloncrow bog GHG Dataset Version 1.0 Care-Peat
收藏资源简介:
The Cloncrow bog Database of greenhouse gases (GHGs) is a freely available resource of CO2 and CH4 fluxes measured in Cloncrow bog, Co. Westmeath. The publication contains two databases: CO2 fluxes which contains 2802 records and CH4 fluxes database which contains 2848 records of GHG measurements between February 2021 and September 2023. This dataset is original data that was analysed and will be presented in paper “The impact of restoration on carbon dynamics in a newly rewetted raised bog”. We measured the C balance over a 3-year period immediately after rewetting in a degraded raised bog. The high bog was intensively drained but not extracted, whereas a cutover bog experienced domestic peat cutting and subsequent abandonment. We measured carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) fluxes from rewetted and adjacent unrestored areas from matched ecotopes (vegetation communities). This study demonstrated that environmental and management factors influence rewetting outcomes and highlighted the potential of non-designated peatlands to reduce GHG emissions. Funding for this study was provided through the Care-Peat project (INTERREG VB NWE 808) from 2019–2023: https://vb.nweurope.eu/projects/project-search/care-peat-carbon-loss-reduction-from-peatlands-an-integrated-approach/
