The project aims to generate a comprehensive dataset to explore the molecular dynamics of the interaction between wheat and its pathogen Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst) under conditions of compatibility, where the pathogen successfully infects the plant. By utilizing RNA-seq, the project seeks to quantify and catalog the gene expression profiles of both wheat and Pst during infection, providing insights into the host's response and the pathogen's strategies to overcome plant defenses. Concurrently, MeRIP-seq will be employed to map RNA methylation patterns, offering a deeper understanding of the epitranscriptomic regulation mechanisms that may influence the outcome of this interaction.
