Soft Occlusion MSI (SOMSI)

We propose a novel MSI representation called Soft Occluded MSI (SOMSI), which scales better as the dimensionality of appearance features increases. The core of our technique is to decouple appearance features from the scene geometry within the MSI representation. In SOMSI, we use standard MSI ERP to represent geometry and soft occlusion; and employ a small number of occlusion layers/ERPs to represent appearance features.
