PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide plants with increased resistance to Colorado potato beetles， a method of producing the same， and a method of determining the resistance to Colorado potato beetles in plants. SOLUTION: It has been found that a Spirosolan skeleton 23-hydroxylase gene and a Spirosolan skeleton 23-acetyltransferase gene， derived from S. chacoense， S. tuberosum， and S. lycopersicum， are involved in the biosynthesis of a leptin， which is responsible for the resistance to Colorado potato beetles.
