Flood-related layers showing flood hazards in Nueces County

This dataset shows a comprehensive coverage of flood risk in Nueces County, where this project is focused. This dataset will be obtained mainly from two sources: the FEMA Flood Map Service Center (MSC) and the Floodplain Quilt geodatabase prepared by the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). FEMA provides flood maps through its National Flood Insurance Program and distributes them through the MSC. TWDB puts together the geodatabase from various sources of data, including the National Flood Hazard layer, Base Level Engineering, etc. This dataset contains the 100 and 500-year floodplains of Nueces County. These maps are continually updated through a variety of processes by FEMA. Along with other socioeconomic, climate, environmental, and health-related datasets, this dataset will be used by the decision-makers and communities for health equity planning and decision-making in at-risk communities in Nueces County.
