This is the first of six folders of bird sightings produced between 1947 and 1957 by Arthur Graham Brown, a man who would later become the president of the Royal Australasian Ornithologists’ Union (RAOU) and an Honorary Associate of the National Museum of Victoria.
The sightings cover the same time period as his five field diaries, which were recently transcribed by DigiVol volunteers. Together the diaries and sightings records will provide us with an invaluable history of Australian bird life in the 1940s and '50s.
