Following the violent winds that hit the Gironde coast on the night of June 24-25, 2025, the paths dedicated to forest fire defense were heavily cluttered with fallen trees.
This situation was particularly problematic given the upcoming forest fire campaign. The congestion of the paths and the damage to the DFCI infrastructure greatly complicated access to maritime pine parcels in the event of a fire.
Copernicus EMS On-Demand Rapid Mapping was requested to provide Delineation extent and damage assessment emergency mapping
