资源简介:
This series consists of agenda papers for the meetings of the Equal Opportunity Committee of the Mitchell College of Advanced Education. The agendas, which also included any attachments for the meetings, are all typed and arranged in chronological order. The agendas outlined the format that the meetings followed and the matters that were to be addressed. This includes the attachments which gave members attending the meeting extra information pertaining to the topics for discussion on the agenda. Both the agendas and attachments were circulated prior to the meetings. The agendas also contain some background information about the role of the Committee. State Government Legislation imposed a legal responsibility on Universities and Colleges of Advanced Education to develop a program to ensure the achievement of equal opportunity in employment within each institution under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. The program attempted to ensure that a person's chances of obtaining employment, the benefits of employment, or the education they required would not be reduced because of their sex, race or ethnicity, marital status, physical or intellectual handicap or sexual preference.Members of the Equal Opportunity Committee include the Chairman of Council, Deputy Principal, Personnel Officer, and Equal Opportunity Co-ordinator. The purpose of the Equal Opportunity Committee included: the development of an Equal Opportunity Management Plan; Providing information about the background of, and issues relating to Equal Employment Opportunity to new committee members, and also to Council; analysing data from Equal Employment Opportunity Surveys; Creating and reviewing documentaion on recruitment, Selection and appointment practices; Creating and reviewing documentation of staff development and training and conditions of service and College Government and Administration Promotional procedures.
