16S rRNA profiling of petroleum-contaminated soil samples

This project involves the analysis of microbial communities in petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated soils collected from arid environments. The primary objective is to assess the diversity and composition of soil bacterial communities associated with different remediation treatments using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Soil samples were collected from experimental plots treated with various bioremediation strategies to enhance hydrocarbon degradation. The study aims to understand microbial community shifts in response to remediation interventions and environmental stressors in desert conditions.
