Visualizing gastrointestinal mucositis using FDG-PET/CT in mice

Datasets from the DoxoPET study investigating the use of PET/CT in visualizing doxorubicin-induced mucositis in the gastrointestinal tract of mice. Experiment were performed twice. The dataset contains body weight measurements, intestine length, weight of the stomach and spleen, and measurements of the villus height and crypt depth. The mean standard uptake value was corrected for bodyweight and derived from a spherical volume of interest contaning the abdomen, not including kidneys, bladder or adjacent skeletal structures. The mice were scanned at baseline, and on days 1,3, 6, and 10 after induction of mucositis with a single i.p. injection of doxorubicin 15 mg/kg bw. Controls received an equal amonut of saline. We used 2-deoxy-2-[18F] fluoro-D-glucose as the tracer for the PET scans.
