This is the dataset that supported the manuscript published at Nutrients (2023) which aimed to describe the characteristics of food consump-tion in terms of processing level and nutrient intake, anthropometric measurements and serum concentrations of ferritin, hemoglobin, components of lipid profile, blood glucose, and vitamins D and B12 of students from rural and urban public schools in Bahia, Brazil. Students regularly enrolled in the municipal public school system of the northeast of Bahia, Brazil, in the years 2019 and 2020, including rural and urban areas, were invited to participate. Individuals aged between 5 and 19 years were considered eligible, resulting in a sample of 190 randomly selected individuals. Clinical demographic, dietary, laboratory, and anthropometric information were included. A face-to-face interview was carried out, guided by a previously structured ques-tionnaire containing questions about the individual’s clinical history, the validated 24 h recall instrument was used, blood samples were collected in fasting and nutritional status was classified using the Body Mass Index (BMI) for Age (BMI/A).
