资源简介:
Perioperative hypothermia (PH) occurs commonly during surgery and is associated with complications such as increased pain and coagulopathy. To mitigate PH, patients can be warmed preoperatively and intraoperatively with forced-air warming (FAW) and conductive warming (CW) methods. FAW and CW are often used interchangeably, though neither has been studied broadly for superiority. To improve perioperative warming methods, it is important to study the utility of both preoperative and intraoperative warming with FAW and CW. In this study, we sought to quantify the effects of prewarming on the magnitude and duration of hypothermia, and to determine whether CW is non-inferior to FAW in preventing intraoperative hypothermia.
