Dataset on mountain pine (Pinus mugo) health and soil organic carbon in Berchtesgaden National Park, Germany
收藏资源简介:
This dataset accompanies the study "Beneath the surface: How the declining health of a keystone shrub species impacts soil carbon in a temperate mountain ecosystem", investigating the effects of mountain pine (Pinus mugo) dieback on soil organic carbon (SOC) in Berchtesgaden National Park (BGNP), Bavaria, Germany. It includes two components: Field data: Plot-level soil measurements, where plots represent different states (healthy P. mugo, ailing P. mugo, unstocked area, forested area). Measurements were collected across an elevational range of ca. 1,100–1,800 m a.s.l. in Wimbach Valley, BGNP. See accompanying README tab for a full description of each variable (column). Landscape simulation data: Output from the forest landscape model iLand (Seidl and others, 2012). The project and time-event files used to configure the simulation (20241202_pimu_bgd_historic.xml; timeevents_baseline_1.txt) are included alongside the simulation outputs (20241128_pimu_C_baseline_iland.sqlite). The output data served as the baseline/starting point for the temporal and spatial simulations of carbon dynamics following mountain pine dieback (see manuscript for details). Full descriptions of each iLand output table and a link to the iLand documentation are provided in the accompanying README.
