Reproductive microbiomes in the pot-bellied seahorse (Hippocampus abdominalis)

The aim of this project was to characterise and compare the pregnant male brood pouch microbiome in the pot-bellied seahorse to that of the non-pregnant male brood pouch microbiome and the microbiome of the external skin. We also characterised the microbiome of the female egg surface and egg contents microbiomes to assess whether pouch-associated microbes were sourced from eggs.
