Attitudes of university professors towards higher education reform.<br>Topics: attitude towards the following statements: introduction of the three cycle system improves quality of education, introduction of the three cycle system improves quality of research training for doctoral candidates, old one-tier system should have been kept, first cycle graduates will find suitable jobs, first cycle graduates should follow a master programme in the same field of study before entering the labour market, need for European quality standards for higher education, need for European quality labels for institutions and programmes, European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) should be used in all study programmes; attitude towards selected statements: more opportunities for double and joint degrees at bachelor and master level, more opportunities for double and joint degrees at doctoral level, mobility as an obligatory part in the curriculum for all students, mobility as an obligatory part in the curriculum for doctoral candidates, adaption of study programmes to labour market needs, inclusion of more generic competences in study and training programmes, opening of universities to adult learners; attitude towards the following statements on governance and funding options in the higher education system: more autonomy for universities from public authorities, stronger guidance for universities from public authorities, need of universities for better internal management, improvement of quality due to competition between universities, need for universities to interact with society for knowledge sharing, public funding of universities and no more private funding, more private funding of universities to gain extra income, reinforcement of universities by business partnerships, possibility to select students, student fees as source of extra income, student fees should be accompanied by support for less-advantaged students; trust in the involvement of selected bodies in higher education reform: national or regional authorities, national rectors conference, university leadership, European Commission, European University Associations, own faculty, private enterprises.
Demography: sex; age; position of respondent at the university; research field; years of teaching experience; degrees awarded by own institution; Erasmus institute.
Additionally coded was: respondent ID; interviewer ID; language of the interview; country; date of interview; time of the beginning of the interview; duration of the interview; call history; weighting factor.
