Seasonal shifts in bacterial communities in the anthropogenically impacted coastal waters of the East Coast of India

Indian East Coast experiences various anthropogenic activities that affect the microbial community in the water column. To study this variation, total and pathogenic bacterial molecular diversity in the coastal waters of Haldia, Paradeep, Kakinada, and Kalingapatnam was determined and compared during the high-land runoff period of the southwest monsoon and the low-land runoff period of the spring intermonsoon.
