1. Social network, readiness for nursing care and assessment of the social situation of older people in a small town. Topics: 1. Information on relatives: living parents or parents-in-law; age of parents or parents-in-law; need of care of relatives and utilization of the nursing care insurance; participation in providing nursing care; marital status; steady partner and living together with him; number and information on persons in household (age, sex, relationship); number, age, sex and distance of one's children outside of household. 2. Readiness for nursing care: attitude to the right of parents to the takeover of domestic nursing care by their children; willingness to care for someone close to the respondent (scale); thinking about personal need of care and assessment of the probability that the respondent himself or his partner will be in need of care; precautions taken for such a case; preferred as well as probable aid in case of need of nursing care; attitude to obligation of relatives or the government to take on nursing care tasks (scale); judgement on the advantageousness of the new nursing care insurance for relatives providing nursing care (scale). 3. Assessment of the social situation: postmaterialism; assessment of the certainty of one's own provision for old age; preference for reduction, extension or for no change in social services; attitude to employment of mothers and women (role orientation scale); moral orientations; future pessimism; dissatisfaction with politicians.
