Lactobacillus paracasei WIS43 alleviates DSS-induced colitis by modulating gut microbiota and suppressing inflammation

This study investigating the effects of the novel probiotic Lactobacillus paracasei WIS43 in a mouse model of dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis. Fecal samples were collected to assess microbiome changes following treatment with WIS43, the commercial strain LPC-37, or mesalazine. The data reveal that WIS43 administration restored beneficial Lactobacillus species and reduced potentially pathogenic bacteria, correlating with its therapeutic efficacy. These sequences are provided to support research on probiotic mechanisms and microbiota modulation in ulcerative colitis.
